A Genetic Variant Located in miR-146b Promoter Region Is Associated with Prognosis of Gastric Cancer

Cancer Epidemiology, Biomarkers & Prevention, 2018
Abstract Background: SNPs in the promoter region of miRNAs have been reported to be associated with cancer prognosis. Our previous study found that miR-146b had a strong correlation with the stage classification of gastric cancer and contributed to tumor progression.

Identification and genetic effect of a variable duplication in the promoter region of the cattle ADIPOQ gene

Animal Genetics, 2013
SummaryIn cattle, the ADIPOQ gene is located in the vicinity of the quantitative trait locus (QTL) affecting marbling, the ribeye muscle area and fat thickness on BTA1. In our study, a novel variable duplication (NW_003103812.1:g.9232067_9232133dup) in the bovine ADIPOQ promoter region was identified and genotyped in seven Chinese cattle breeds.

Genetic Variation in theTNFAPromoter Region andTNFAGene Expression in Subjects with Asthma

Journal of Asthma, 2013
Asthma is a chronic disease that affects millions of people. Messenger RNA (mRNA) expression of specific inflammatory markers has been associated with asthma and corticosteroid response. Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNF-α), a pro-inflammatory cytokine, has been shown to have increased expression in airways of asthmatics and may be related to corticosteroid

Genetic Variants in the Promoter Region of the ALOX5AP Gene and Susceptibility of Ischemic Stroke

Cerebrovascular Diseases, 2011
Background: Despite accumulating evidence supporting the association between variants of the ALOX5AP gene and atherosclerotic vascular events, the precise mechanism is still unclear. No variants in the coding sequence that lead to amino acid substitution have been found.

Genetic association between interleukin-10 promoter region polymorphisms and primary Sjgren's syndrome

Arthritis & Rheumatism, 2001
To determine whether the haplotypes formed on the basis of single-base-exchange polymorphisms at positions -1082, -819, or -592 of the interleukin-10 (IL-10) gene predispose subjects to primary Sjögren's syndrome (SS).The frequency of IL-10 polymorphisms was analyzed in 62 patients with primary SS and in 400 healthy subjects.
