The Promotion Strategy of Kindergartens in Middle Taiwan

open access: yes, 2009
[[abstract]]Preschool education is the foundation of all educations. Quality is more important than quantity in breeding children. The purposes of this paper are: 1. assessing the developing position and current problems of kindergarten; 2.

Contribution à la validation initiale de la Grille d’observation d’un message de santé (GOMS)

open access: yesCommunication, 2003
The efficiency of different strategies that promote health is narrowly linked to the efficiency of the messages transmitted. Until today, few efforts have been made to create a model that is practical and easily used by practitioners in promoting ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Schools strategy [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
The aim of this strategy is to form the basis for the evolving direction of the Greater Glasgow NHS Boards (GGNHSB) Health Promotion Department work in schools. It is designed for use not only by the schools and early years teams but for all those within

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

A framework for evaluating health promotion programs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
Evaluation of health promotion interventions is essential in order to collect evidence about the efficacy of a program, identify ways to improve practice, justify the use of resources, and identify unexpected outcomes.

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Export promotion agencies revisited [PDF]

open access: yes
The number of national export promotion agencies has tripled over the past two decades. Although more countries made them part of their export strategy, studies criticized their efficacy in developing countries.
