A dyed nylon fiber is implemented inside the scattering phantom and skin tissue. The deep‐tissue light generation via whispering gallery mode lasing is demonstrated, achieving a depth of >50 times transport mean free path in scattering phantom and 3 mm beneath skin.

Shortest propagation delay (SPD) first scheduling for EPONs with heterogeneous propagation delays
IEEE Journal on Selected Areas in Communications, 2010Due to the geographic distribution of its subscribers, Ethernet Passive Optical Networks (EPONs) have typically varying propagation delays between the Optical Network Units (ONUs) and the Optical Line Terminal (OLT). In this paper, we consider EPONs with an offline scheduling framework, which enables Quality-of-Service mechanisms by collecting ...

A measurement of propagation delay
Metrologia, 2007A measurement method and associated uncertainty analysis have been developed for the measurement of propagation or group delay in electrical transmission lines and optical fibres. The measurement method and uncertainty analysis were applied to measurements of optical fibre delay lines that introduce tens of microseconds of delay (1 km, 2 km and 4 km ...
