Flow injection monitoring and analysis of mixtures of simazine, atrazine, and propazine using filter-supported bilayer lipid membranes (BLMs)

open access: yesElectroanalysis, 1996
This work describes a technique for the rapid and sensitive electrochemical flow injection monitoring and analysis of mixtures of the triazine herbicides simazine, atrazine and propazine using stabilized systems of filter-supported bilayer lipid ...

Montmorillonite as an adsorbent for extraction and concentration of atrazine, propazine, deethylatrazine, deisopropylatrazine and hydroxyatrazine.

Analytica Chimica Acta, 2006
Adsorption properties of the clay mineral montmorillonite in the potassium homoionic form (KMT) was investigated to achieve the extraction and concentration of the herbicides atrazine (AT) and propazine (PROP), as well as the main degradation products of atrazine, namely deethylatrazine (DEA), deisopropylatrazine (DIA) and hydroxyatrazine (ATOH).

Degradation of atrazine, propazine, and simazine by Rhodococcus strain B-30

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1994
Rhodococcus strain B-30 isolated from an agricultural soil degraded the herbicides atrazine, propazine, and simazine under aerobic conditions. Atrazine was degraded very rapidly. Almost 16 mg/L of atrazine was metabolized in 72 h, resulting in the formation of mono- and di-N-dealkylated products.

Absorption and Translocation of Terbutryn and Propazine

Weed Science, 1973
The absorption and translocation patterns of terbutryn [2-(tert-butylamino)-4-(ethylamino)-6-(methylthio)-s-triazine] and propazine [2-chloro-4,6-bis(isopropylamino)-s-triazine] were determined in wheat (Triticum vulgareVill. ‘Kaw’) and sorghum (Sorghum bicolorL. ‘RS 612’).

Immunoassay for Simazine and Atrazine with Low Cross-Reactivity for Propazine

Journal of Agricultural and Food Chemistry, 1996
An antibody for simazine and atrazine has been developed that exhibits low cross-reactivity to propazine relative to most atrazine antibodies heretofore evaluated. The cross-reactivities obtained in an enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay were 100 ( 4% for simazine, 76 ( 9% for atrazine, and 12.6 ( 1.3% for propazine.

Mechanism of action of propazine, a compound of the symmetrical triazine group, in vivo

Bulletin of Experimental Biology and Medicine, 1972
Der iva t ives of the s y m m e t r i c a l t r i az ines can act as folic acid antagonis ts [19]. The abili ty of such antagonis ts to induce " thymine s tarvat ion" has been descr ibed [12]. A typical f ea tu re of folic acid def ic iency in the body is a d is turbance of nucleic acid me tabo l i sm [18].

Molecular recognition in a propazine-imprinted polymer and its application to the determination of triazines in environmental samples.

Analytical Chemistry, 2001
An analytical methodology for the determination of triazines in environmental samples incorporating a molecularly imprinted solid-phase extraction (MISPE) process using a propazine-imprinted polymer was developed. Two different polymers were prepared using acetonitrile or toluene as porogen, and their optimum loading, washing, and elution conditions ...

Determination of propazine by differential pulse polarography in micellar and emulsified media

Mikrochimica Acta, 1995
An electroanalytical study of the herbicide propazine's reduction process in micellar solutions and oil-in-water emulsions is reported. The anionic surfactant sodium pentanesulphonate was chosen as the most suitable. The differential pulse polarograms of micellar solutions had two reduction peaks below pH 2.0, whereas only one peak was obtained above ...
