Fabrication Routes for Ionic Conducting Fiber Strain Sensors

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, EarlyView.
Ionic conducting fiber strain sensors (ICFSs) offer compliant, textile‐integrable sensing. Thus far, the commercialization of ICFSs has been constrained by fiber fabrication routes. This review provides a fabrication‐centric analysis of ICFSs correlating processing strategies with material properties and scalability.

Influence of Regio- and Stereoregularity of Propene Insertion on Crystallization Behavior and Elasticity of Ethene−Propene Copolymers

open access: yes, 2016
Melting enthalpies of several ethene−propene samples, obtained by different single-center catalytic systems and having widely different constitutions and compositions in the range of industrial interest, are compared. For the first time, a clear evidence

Pt/Nanograined ZnO/SiC Schottky diode based hydrogen and propene sensor

open access: yes, 2011
A nanostructured Schottky diode was fabricated to sense hydrogen and propene gases in the concentration range of 0.06% to 1%. The ZnO sensitive layer was deposited on SiC substrate by pulse laser deposition technique.

Spatially Regulated Lithium Plating via Li2O‐Rich Interphase Enables Durable Fast‐Charging Hybrid Lithium Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A Li2O‐rich solid electrolyte interphase (SEI) is engineered on graphite through a propylene carbonate‐based electrolyte to spatially regulate Li plating. The homogeneous interphase lowers Li nucleation barriers, promotes conformal Li deposition around graphite particles, and suppresses dendritic accumulation, enabling durable hybrid Li‐ion/Li‐metal ...

The influence of biomass burning on the global distribution of selected non-methane organic compounds [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2013
Forests fires are a significant source of chemicals to the atmosphere including numerous non-methane organic compounds (NMOCs). We report airborne measurement of hydrocarbons, acetone and methanol from >500 whole air samples collected over Eastern ...

Analyzing the Effect of Zr, W, and V Isomorph Framework Substitution on ZSM-5 and Beta Zeolites for Their Use as Hydrocarbon Trap

open access: yesMolecules, 2023
This work evaluates the effect on the adsorption and desorption kinetics of propene and toluene (used as probe molecules for vehicle cold-start emissions) of the isomorph framework substitution of Zr, W, and V on commercial ZSM-5 and beta zeolites.

Enhancement of a detailed mechanism of propene

open access: yes, 2010
Propene (C3H6) is an important constituent of practical hydrocarbons fuels and an important intermediate in the combustion of these fuels. Furthermore, synthetic gases such as biogenic gas mixtures not only consist of hydrogen, methane, and carbon ...

Phase Behavior of Propane and Propene Hydrates [PDF]

open access: yes, 1947
The compositions of propane, propene, and propane-propene hydrates varied from 5 to 15 mols of water per mol of hydrocarbon. No appreciable separation of the propene from the propane was found between the excess liquid hydrocarbon phase and the ...

Coordinated Architectural and Chemical Reinforcement in the Crushing Mandible of a Soldier Termite

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The crushing mandible of a soldier termite withstands substantial biting loads despite lacking mineral. Its cuticle is partitioned: convex teeth pair hardness and zinc enrichment with aligned chitin fibers for contact durability, while stiffer concave regions between teeth carry bending loads.
