A proper 𝐺ₐ action on 𝐶⁵ which is not locally trivial

open access: yes, 1995
The quotient of a proper holomorphic G a {G_a} action on C n {{\mathbf {C}}^n} is known to carry the ...

ROLE OF THE METABOLITE THERAPY FOR THE TREATMENT OF CHRONIC HEART FAILURE

open access: yesРациональная фармакотерапия в кардиологии, 2015
Questions of metabolite therapy with drugs based on glutamic acid in patients with chronic heart failure are considered. Possible modes of action of these drugs are presented.

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Proper, denominator assigning feedback compensators equivalent to state variable feedback

open access: yes, 2016
For linear, time-invariant, stabilizable multivariable systems, we examine the problem of the existence and computation of proper denominator assigning and internally stabilizing feedback compensators, which give rise to a closed-loop system, whose ...

Separating binding and retrieval of event files in older adults

open access: yesActa Psychologica
In the literature on human action control, it is assumed that features of stimuli (S) and responses (R) are integrated into internal representations (so-called event files) that are involved in the execution of an action.

Recommendations on the Proper Use of SGLT2 Inhibitors

open access: yesDiabetology International, 2019
Following the launch of the first sodium-glucose co-transporter-2 (SGLT2) inhibitor on April 17, 2014, several other SGLT2 inhibitors have followed over time, so that 6 active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs)/7 finished pharmaceutical products (FPPs ...

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

A classification of taut, Stein surfaces with a proper R-action

open access: yes, 2011
We present a classification of 2-dimensional, taut, Stein manifolds with a proper R-action. For such manifolds the globalization with respect to the induced local C-action turns out to be Stein.

pH‐mediated activation of the lysosomal arginine sensor SLC38A9

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cells monitor nutrient levels via the lysosomal transporter SLC38A9 to activate the mechanistic target of rapamycin complex 1 (mTORC1). This study reveals that SLC38A9 function is regulated by pH. We identified histidine 544 as a critical pH sensor that undergoes conformational changes to control amino acid efflux from lysosomes; therefore, it ...
