On properness of minimal surfaces with bounded curvature
We show that immersed minimal surfaces in the euclidean 3-space with bounded curvature and proper self intersections are proper. We also showthat restricted to wide components the immersing map is always proper, regardless the map being proper or not ...

Crisis Map Design Considering Map Cognition
Crisis maps play a significant role in emergency responses. Users are challenged to interpret a map rapidly in emergencies, with limited visual information-processing resources and under time pressure.

On definably proper maps [PDF]
In this paper we work in o-minimal structures with definable Skolem functions and show that a continuous definable map between Hausdorff locally definably compact definable spaces is definably proper if and only if it is proper morphism in the category of definable spaces.

Classification Theorems of Ruled Surfaces in Minkowski Three-Space
By generalizing the notion of the pointwise 1-type Gauss map, the generalized 1-type Gauss map has been recently introduced. Without any assumption, we classified all possible ruled surfaces with the generalized 1-type Gauss map in a 3-dimensional ...

On replacing proper Dehn maps with proper embeddings [PDF]
In this paper we develop algebraic and geometric conditions which imply that a given proper Dehn map can be replaced by an embedding. The embedding, whose existence is implied by our theorem, retains most of the algebraic and geometric properties required in the original proper Dehn map.

The relationships between a convergence space and its star compactification is studied. Special attention is given to lifting properties of this compactification.

Surfaces of infinite-type are non-Hopfian
We show that finite-type surfaces are characterized by a topological analogue of the Hopf property. Namely, an oriented surface $\Sigma $ is of finite-type if and only if every proper map $f\colon \,\Sigma \rightarrow \Sigma $ of degree one is homotopic ...

A pointfree version of remainder preservation [PDF]
Recall that a continuous function $fcolon Xto Y$ between Tychonoff spaces is proper if and only if the Stone extension $f^{beta}colon beta Xtobeta Y$ takes remainder to remainder, in the sense that $f^{beta}[beta X-X]subseteq beta Y-Y$.

In this paper, firstly, a new property of the cone subpreinvex set-valued map involving the generalized contingent epiderivative is obtained. As an application of this property, a sufficient optimality condition for constrained set-valued optimization ...

Characterizations of Paracompact Map [PDF]
Paracompactness is a tool for splitting of a space. In this paper, new types of maps initiated called a paracompact map, S-paracompact mapping and β-paracompact mapping. The properties of these maps investigated.
