SOIL FORENSICS: Property and the Buried Truth in Medellín
ABSTRACT As Colombia attempted to achieve peace, the city of Medellín aimed to move beyond its violent past, breaking ground on ambitious green development projects to bring parks and infrastructure to the city's most peripheral neighborhoods. But these projects threatened to evict local residents, as city planners deployed maps of soils at risk of ...

Abstract Background An accurate evaluation of the degree of sedation is mandatory to adjust the dosage of sedative drugs. Objectives To determine the correlation between head height above the ground and ataxia degree in horses sedated with detomidine and the correlation existing between accelerometric variables and both parameters. Study design In vivo

We explored the allocation strategies of N and P in leaves and fine roots (metabolic organs) and, in stems and coarse roots (woody organs) of nine dominant tree species in secondary tropical dry forests using scaling analysis. The scaling relationships of P versus N concentrations in non‐leaf organs were isometric across secondary succession and ...

Though its effectiveness is variable, passive restoration can be more effective than active restoration. Our research indicates that passive tree colonisation of past agricultural land is enough to achieve soil functionality similar to a mature forest for most variables studied. However, some variables would need more time to reach mature forest levels,

Medida in situ de las propiedades hidráulicas del suelo
[EN]: Water infiltration was measured in two soils of different textures, using the disc permea meter technique, in Ihe pressure pOlentíal range of saturation and 100 mm suclion. Hydraulic conductivity and sorptivity were obtained from these measurements. Measuremenls were made in situ in a heavy clay soil and in a sandy loam soil.
