Operative Efficiency and Short‐Term Outcomes of Robotic Transabdominal Preperitoneal Inguinal Hernia Repair: A Prospective Single‐Surgeon Cohort Study

open access: yesANZ Journal of Surgery, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Robotic transabdominal preperitoneal inguinal hernia repair (R‐TAPP IHR) is a promising minimally invasive tool for inguinal hernias. This study aimed to evaluate short‐term postoperative outcomes following R‐TAPP IHR from a high‐volume robotic surgeon who has passed the initial robotic learning curve.

Neuronal and ion channel mechanisms of noxious heat sensing in mammals: A puzzle of sensory physiology and pharmacology

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Transient receptor potential vanilloid 1 (TRPV1) was the first noxious heat‐sensitive channel discovered. In rodents, its role is robust in the heat response of the cell body of polymodal nociceptors, but surprisingly small in that of the peripheral terminals in the skin.
