Models of Cox’s Proportional Hazards

Mathematica Applicanda, 2011
The paper presents Cox proportional hazards model, its properties and methods of its parameters estimation. It is widely applicable in survival analysis – in prediction of survival chances of some objects (usually patients in medical studies). The essential advantage of the model is allowing of incomplete data, which often appear in studies – both in ...

Survival analysis via cox proportional hazards additive models

Encyclopedia with Semantic Computing and Robotic Intelligence, 2017
The Cox proportional hazards model is commonly used to examine the covariate-adjusted association between a predictor of interest and the risk of mortality for censored survival data. However, it assumes a parametric relationship between covariates and mortality risk though a linear predictor.

Comparing two crossing hazard rates by Cox proportional hazards modelling

Statistics in Medicine, 2006
AbstractMotivated by a clinical trial of zinc nasal spray for the treatment of the common cold, we consider the problem of comparing two crossing hazard rates. A comprehensive review of the existing methods for dealing with the crossing hazard rates problem is provided.

Survival Analysis Cox’s Proportional Hazards Model)

2001
Abstract The San Francisco Men’s Health Study is based on a sample of 1034 single men ages 24 to 54 years. These men were recruited using a multistage prob ability sample and were followed from July 1984 to December 1987. Mem bers of the cohort were interviewed and examined every six months.

Cox Proportional Hazards Regression Model

2001
The Cox proportional hazards model 132 is the most popular model for the analysis of survival data. It is a semiparametric model; it makes a parametric assumption concerning the effect of the predictors on the hazard function, but makes no assumption regarding the nature of the hazard function λ(t) itself.

Fitting Cox's proportional hazards models from survey data

Biometrika, 1992
SUMMARY The proportional hazards model makes a number of assumptions which may not always be completely satisfied. However, fitting such models can have both descriptive and analytical value. We discuss the implications of the survey design for large-scale studies.

Adjusted variable plots for Cox's proportional hazards regression model

Lifetime Data Analysis, 1996
Adjusted variable plots are useful in linear regression for outlier detection and for qualitative evaluation of the fit of a model. In this paper, we extend adjusted variable plots to Cox's proportional hazards model for possibly censored survival data.
