Development of therapies targeting cancer‐associated fibroblasts (CAFs) necessitates preclinical model systems that faithfully represent CAF–tumor biology. We established an in vitro coculture system of patient‐derived pancreatic CAFs and tumor cell lines and demonstrated its recapitulation of primary CAF–tumor biology with single‐cell transcriptomics ...

Types of Pottery from the Novoslavka-2 Burial Ground
We present the results of the preliminary study of pottery obtained during 4-year studies at the Novoslavка-2 burial ground. Dated to 450-550 AD based on artifact analysis, this burial ground belongs to the Komintern type of the Imenkovo culture.

Loss of redundant gene expression after polyploidization in plants
Based on chromosomal location data of genes encoding 28 biochemical systems in allohexaploid wheat,Triticum aestivum L. (genomes AABBDD), it is concluded that the proportions of systems controlled by triplicate, duplicate, and single loci are 57%, 25 ...

Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Recognition of Geometrical and Proportional Principles in Open and Semi-Open Spaces of Hot and Humid Climate (Case Study: Historical Houses of Bushehr) [PDF]
Proportion is one of the significant design principles featured in Iranian architecture. Several factors are influential in applying a certain type of spatial proportions. Climate and ecology are the most important ones.

Next‐generation proteomics improves lung cancer risk prediction
This is one of very few studies that used prediagnostic blood samples from participants of two large population‐based cohorts. We identified, evaluated, and validated an innovative protein marker model that outperformed an established risk prediction model and criteria employed by low‐dose computed tomography in lung cancer screening trials.

Monitoring circulating tumor DNA (ctDNA) in patients with operable breast cancer can reveal disease relapse earlier than radiology in a subset of patients. The failure to detect ctDNA in some patients with recurrent disease suggests that ctDNA could serve as a supplement to other monitoring approaches.
