Expression of Oxytocin/Neurophysin I and Oxytocinase in the Equine Conceptus from Day 8 to Day 21 Post-Ovulation

open access: yesAnimals, 2022
Leucyl and cystinyl aminopeptidase (LNPEP/oxytocinase) is an enzyme that metabolizes oxytocin in serum and tissues. The presence of oxytocin/neurophysin I (OXT), oxytocin and LNPEP and their relationship to other genes is unknown in the equine conceptus.

Erythropoietin modulates hepatic inflammation, glucose homeostasis, and soluble epoxide hydrolase and epoxides in high‐fat diet‐induced obese mice

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Erythropoietin administration suppresses hepatic soluble epoxide hydrolase (sEH) expression, leading to increased CYP‐derived epoxides. This is associated with a shift in hepatic macrophage polarization characterized by reduced M1 markers and increased M2 markers, along with reduced hepatic inflammation, suppressed hepatic lipogenesis, and attenuated ...

Novel prostaglandin and isoprostane panel for evaluating Wilson’s Disease

open access: yesTürk Biyokimya Dergisi
Wilson’s disease (WD) leads to copper accumulation in the liver and brain. It generates oxidative stress, which can damage the liver and central nervous system (CNS). The concentrations of oxidized lipid products, such as prostaglandins and isoprostanes,

PROSTAGLANDINS AND CANCER [PDF]

open access: yesGut, 2006
Chemoprevention has been considered as a possible approach for cancer prevention. A significant effort has been made in the development of novel drugs for both cancer prevention and treatment over the past decade. Recent epidemiological studies and clinical trials indicate that long term use of aspirin and similar agents, also called non-steroidal anti-

MiR‐513a promotes human erythroid differentiation by modulating c‐Jun

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
During early human erythropoiesis, miR‐513a promoted erythroid differentiation in primary human CD34+ hematopoietic stem‐progenitor cells and human TF‐1 erythroleukemic cells by indirectly decreasing c‐Jun and phospho‐c‐Jun expression, which are associated with increased GATA1 expression.

Effects of supplemental oxytocin or prostaglandin F2α analogue in extended boar semen on piglet productivity of gilts and sows artificially inseminated in summer

open access: yesБіологія тварин, 2023
We determined the effects of oxytocin (OT) and prostaglandin F2α analogue (PG) added to extended boar semen on the duration of artificial insemination (AI) and reproductive performance of pigs bred in July and August (temperate climate of Central Europe).

Identifying transcription factors controlling the basal expression of human MRP4 highlights a substantial role for Sp1

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
The MRP4 transporter exports several drugs and signaling molecules. Here, we identified key promoter elements regulating basal MRP4 expression. Using reporter assays, we defined a conserved region with essential Sp1 and contributory Ets sites, which controlled basal MRP4 expression.

Development of a novel rat long-bone nonunion model and efficacy evaluation of a prostaglandin EP4 selective agonist (AKDS001) combined with iliac bone grafting

open access: yesBone & Joint Research
Aims: Nonunion occurs when a fracture fails to heal permanently, often necessitating surgical intervention to stimulate the bone healing response. Current animal models of long-bone nonunion do not adequately replicate human pathological conditions ...

The Effects of Intrauterine Injection with Prostaglandin F2α, Arachidonic Acid and Phosphate Solution on the Eggshell Formation of Japanese Quail Hen

open access: yesThe Journal of Poultry Science, 2002
Inhibitory effects of prostaglandin F2α, arachidonic acid and phosphate solution on the eggshell formation were investigated in Japanese quail. All injections were performed intrauterinely 8h before the predicted oviposition. Prematurely oviposited

PRODUCTIVE AND REPRODUCTIVE PERFORMANCES OF PRIMIPAROUS FRIESIAN COWS IN RELATION WITH UTERINE INVOLUTION INDUCED BY OXYTOCIN AND PROSTAGLANDIN OF ADMINISTRATION AT CALVING [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Animal and Poultry Production, 2015
This study was carried out at a private farm, Dakahlia governorate during the period from November 2013 to April 2014 to evaluate the effects of oxytocin (OXY) and prostaglandin (PG) on uterine involution and consequently on postpartum productive and ...
