CLINICAL AND THERAPEUTIC ASPECTS IN THE SEVERE AORTIC COARCTATION WITH DUCT DEPENDENT SYSTEMIC CIRCULATION IN THE NEWBORN [PDF]
The aortic coarctation has an incidence of 0.6-0.8/1,000 newborn, with clinical manifestation starting with the neonatal period. In the newborn, the heart congenital malformations associated to heart failure and clinical response early in the first ...

Inhibition of Venoconstrictor Responses by Prostaglandin E1
SummaryPGE1 caused venodilatation in the isolated perfused canine gracilis muscle but not in the perfused hindpaw. Venoconstrictor responses to nerve stimulation, norepinephrine, and angiotensin were inhibited significantly and uniformly in the paw but not in the muscle.

Inspired by the structural and functional characteristics of bone, bionic nanomaterials combined with nanotechnology can more accurately replicate stem cell niches, enabling the design of bone tissue engineering scaffolds with diverse nanoscale properties to promote stem cell migration, proliferation, and differentiation. This precise control over stem

Misoprostol-induced pulmonary edema in a parturient with postpartum cardiomyopathy
Misoprostol, a synthetic prostaglandin E1 (PGE1) analogue, although not the first-line drug in the management of postpartum hemorrhage, is frequently used for this purpose due to its safety profile and cost-effectiveness.

Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain cancer that often recurs and resists chemotherapy. This study found that a chemical called PGE2 causes surrounding brain cells (neurons) to become over‐excited, which makes GBM cells resistant to treatment. Researchers developed a new drug, “Compound 11,” which can cross into the brain and effectively block ...

CLINIC AND THERAPEUTIC ASPECTS IN DUCTUS-DEPENDENT CONGENITAL HEART DEFECTS (PART II) [PDF]
The cardiac congenital malformations with duct dependent pulmonary circulation are cardiopathies with severe neonatal manifestations and quickly progressive hemodynamic degradation. The obvious semeiology at the birth requires an appropriate diagnostic

Induction of Abortion by Prostaglandins E1 and E2 [PDF]
Intravenous infusions of prostaglandin E (E(1) or E(2)) were used for termination of pregnancy in 11 patients. Induction of abortion was successful in nine instances and in eight the abortion was complete. No undesirable side-effects were recorded.

The immunocompetent Intestine‐on‐a‐Chip (IoC) is developed using melt electrowritten (MEW) half‐pipes. Intestinal epithelial cell (IEC) culture is optimized in the MEW‐based IoC, followed by co‐culture with monocyte‐derived dendritic cells (moDCs) and T cells in 3D hydrogels.

Effect of Low-magnitude, High-frequency Vibration on Osteocytes in the Regulation of Osteoclasts [PDF]
Osteocytes are well evidenced to be the major mechanosensor in bone, responsible for sending signals to the effector cells (osteoblasts and osteoclasts) that carry out bone formation and resorption. Consistent with this hypothesis, it has been shown that
