Mass spectrometric determination of picomole amounts of prostaglandins E2 and F2α using synthetic deuterium labeled carriers

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1971
Abstract [3,3,4,4-D 4 ]-prostaglandin E 2 and [3,3,4,4-D 4 ]-prostaglandin F 2α were prepared and used as carriers in quantitative gas chromatography-mass spectrometry. Ions of the protium form and the tetradeuterio form produced by electron impact on the effluent were monitored.

Effect of Prostaglandin F2α and its Synthetic Analogue on Retention of Spermatozoa in the Reproductive Tract of Estrous Rabbits

Reproduction in Domestic Animals, 1985
Contents 15 estrous does were used to determine whether PGF 2α(dinoprost) or synthetic PGF2α(cloprostenol) administered to does shortly (10 min.) after artificial deposition of 100 × 106sperm cells in the cranial vagina would increase the retention of sperm in the reproductive tract. The animals were divided into 3 equal poups.

Coupling between cyclooxygenases and prostaglandin F(2alpha) synthase. Detection of an inducible, glutathione-activated, membrane-bound prostaglandin F(2alpha)-synthetic activity.

Biochimica et biophysica acta, 2003
Distinct functional coupling between cyclooxygenases (COXs) and specific terminal prostanoid synthases leads to phase-specific production of particular prostaglandins (PGs). In this study, we examined the coupling between COX isozymes and PGF synthase (PGFS).
