Evaluation of patients with diseases of the prostate using prostate‐specific antigen density

British Journal of Urology, 1995
Objective To compare the efficacy of two tests, prostatic‐specific antigen (PSA) and the PSA/prostate volume ratio (PSAD), as diagnostic and staging markers to discriminate patients with benign prostatic hyperplasia (BPH) from patients with cancer of the prostate (CaP).

Prostate-specific antigen density: A new prognostic indicator for prostate cancer

International Journal of Radiation Oncology*Biology*Physics, 1993
Prostate specific antigen density, previously described as a ratio of serum prostate specific antigen to the volume of the prostate, has been shown to be an important factor in the discrimination of patients with occult metastatic disease and patients with benign versus malignant prostatic disease.

[The usefulness of percentage of free prostate specific antigen/prostate specific antigen density in the diagnosis of prostate cancer].

Zhonghua wai ke za zhi [Chinese journal of surgery], 2008
To investigate the usefulness of percentage of free prostate specific antigen (FPSA/TPSA) in serum/PSA density [(F/T)/PSAD] in the diagnosis of prostate cancer. Two hundred and four patients who had been carried out transrectal ultrasound guided prostate biopsy, were involved in this study.

[Results of studies of prostate-specific antigen and prostate-specific antigen density in patients with prostatic hypertrophy and prostatic cancer].

Orvosi hetilap, 1995
The authors investigated the PSA concentration and the preoperative prostate volume of 113 histologically proved BPH and 31 prostate cancer patients. There was no correlation between the age of the patients and the volume of the prostate. Whereas, correlation was proved between the marker concentration and the prostate volume (p < 0.0001). The prostate
