NEOVASCULARIZATION IN PROSTATIC ADENOCARCINOMA AS DETERMINED BY CD34: A RETROSPECTIVE STUDY

open access: yesThe Iraqi Journal of Medical Sciences, 2016
Background: Microvessel density is one of the variables that are thought to affect the natural history of prostatic carcinoma in as much as its degree influences tumor progression including the ability of invasion and metastasis.

Study of CD117 Expression and Its Relationship with Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia and Gleason Score in Prostatic Adenocarcinoma [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mazandaran University of Medical Sciences, 2023
Background and purpose: Prostate cancer is the second cause of cancer-related death in men. Early diagnosis and identification of prognostic factors help to predict clinical outcome and select the most effective treatment protocol in each patient.

Incidental periprostatic schwannoma discovered during evaluation for prostatic adenocarcinoma

open access: yesUrology Case Reports, 2020
Schwannomas of the prostate are exceedingly rare. We present a noteworthy case of a sporadic prostatic schwannoma diagnosed in conjunction with prostatic adenocarcinoma.A 60-year-old male presented with mild lower urinary tract symptoms and a prostate ...

Transformation of a prostatic adenocarcinoma into squamous cell carcinoma after luteinizing hormone-releasing hormone agonist and radiotherapy treatment

open access: yesThe Pan African Medical Journal, 2019
Squamous cell carcinoma of the prostate is rare and represents 0.5% to 1% of prostatic carcinomas. Transformation of prostatic adenocarcinoma into squamous cell carcinoma after LH-RH agonist intake has been reported in only 8 cases in the literature.

A rare case of prostatic ductal adenocarcinoma presenting as papillary metastatic carcinoma of unknown primary: A case report and review of the literature

open access: yesHuman Pathology: Case Reports, 2016
Prostatic ductal adenocarcinoma is an uncommon form of prostatic carcinoma. We report a case of a 63-year-old man who presented with non-infective thrombotic (marantic) endocarditis and an incidental finding of a destructive lesion in the left iliac ...

Prostate carcinoma metastatic to the skin as an extrammamary Paget’s disease

open access: yesDiagnostic Pathology, 2012
Aim The current paper describes a case of prostatic adenocarcinoma metastatic to the skin presenting as an extrammamary Paget's disease, a very rare and poorly characterised morphological entity. We report a case of prostatic carcinoma metastatic to skin

COMP–PMEPA1 axis promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition in breast cancer cells

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study reveals that cartilage oligomeric matrix protein (COMP) promotes epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EMT) in breast cancer. We identify PMEPA1 (protein TMEPAI) as a novel COMP‐binding partner that mediates EMT via binding to the TSP domains of COMP, establishing the COMP–PMEPA1 axis as a key EMT driver in breast cancer.

Metastatic Prostatic Acinar Adenocarcinoma Presenting as a Penile Malignant Tumour: A Case Report [PDF]

open access: yesNational Journal of Laboratory Medicine
Penile metastasis from occult prostatic acinar adenocarcinoma is extremely rare and has been described in only a few case reports in the literature. The incidence of metastasis from known prostatic adenocarcinoma to the penis is less than 0.3%.

CD47 promotes mitogen‐activated protein kinase and epithelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition molecular programs to drive prometastatic phenotypes in non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Beyond its role in immune evasion, this study identified that CD47 drives tumor‐intrinsic signaling in non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC). Transcriptomic profiling and functional studies revealed that CD47 regulates cell adhesion, migration, and metastasis through an ERK–EMT signaling axis.
