Cystoscopic-assisted laparoscopic excision of prostatic utricle
Journal of Pediatric Urology, 2018We present a video of our technique for resection of a large prostatic utricle (PU) in a patient who presented initially with disordered sexual development. His karyotype was 46XY, and phenotypically had penoscrotal hypospadias, bifid scrotum, and retractile right testis.

Cystoscopic Management of Prostatic Utricles
Urology, 2021In this case series (n = 7) on prostatic utricles (PU), retention of urine was seen in 5 of 7, urinary tract infection (4 of 7), recurrent epidydymo-orchitis (3 of 7), and scrotal sinus (1 of 7). Voiding cystourethrogram established diagnosis in 3 of 7 patients while CT/MRI in 4 of 7 patients.

The Prostatic Utricle in the Fetus and Infant
Urologia Internationalis, 1974The prostatic utricle (uterus masculinus) has been examined in 194 fetuses and infants, and its appearance before and after birth has been described. The utricle was markedly enlarged in 16 cases and caused extreme bulging of the colliculus seminalis in 5 cases.

The Congenitally Dilated Prostatic Utricle
Journal of Urology, 1978A case of utricular dilatation in a child with recurrent urinary tract infection and associated genitourinary anomalies is presented. The embryology of the utricle and the relationship of the dilated utricle to the müllerian duct regression factor are discussed. Clinical sequelae, diagnosis and management are outlined briefly.

Prostatic Utricle: An Unusual Case Report
European Journal of Pediatric Surgery, 1994A 3-year-old white patient was hospitalized for the second recurrence of an epididymitis but this time with a left scrotal abscess. He was known to have a perineoscrotal hypospadias associated with bilateral undescended testis. Cystoscopy with cytourethrography releaved the presence of a "prostatic utricle".

Signs, symptoms, and indications for surgical intervention include hematuria, pseudo-incontinence from urine trapping within the utricle, lower urinary tract symptoms, recurrent urinary tract infections, and stone formation within the pouch.

Endometrial Carcinoma of the Prostatic Utricle: A Tumor of Prostatic Origin
Journal of Urology, 1985Endometrial carcinoma of the prostatic utricle previously was believed to be of müllerian origin. We report 2 cases studied by ultrastructural and immunoperoxidase techniques. Our results, as well as those presented by others, demonstrate the prostatic origin of this tumor.
