Compliant Grasp Control Method for the Underactuated Prosthetic Hand Based on the Estimation of Grasping Force and Muscle Stiffness with sEMG

open access: yesBiomimetics
Human muscles can generate force and stiffness during contraction. When in contact with objects, human hands can achieve compliant grasping by adjusting the grasping force and the muscle stiffness based on the object’s characteristics.

Spatially Confined/Ligand‐Directed Ultrabright NIR‐AIE Nanoprobe for In Vitro Rapid Detection and In Situ Imaging of Bacterial Septic Arthritis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Inorganic PbS quantum dots spatially confine AIEgens and enable cooperative luminescence within a ligand‐directed core–shell–shell nanoassembly, generating ultrabright NIR PPANPs with enhanced fluorescence and photothermal performance. The platform enables 10‐min S.

Engineering Spatially Localized Bioactive Microenvironments in Assembly Implants for Spatially Extended Bone Ingrowth

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An assembly porous titanium/β‐TCP implant is developed to establish a spatially programmable osteogenic microenvironment for enhanced osseointegration. By decoupling mechanical support from bioactive ion release, localized ionic gradients generated from the β‐TCP module direct osteogenic activity and bone ingrowth toward the porous titanium framework ...

Prepolymerization Enables On‐Demand Viscosity Tuning for Xolography of Soft Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A facile in situ prepolymerization strategy enables on‐demand viscosity tuning across three orders of magnitude without external thickeners, transforming low‐viscosity resins into printable formulations for Xolography. The approach suppresses sedimentation, lowers curing dose, enables high‐fidelity support‐free fabrication, and produces advanced ...

PHGDH‐Mediated Serine Metabolism in Nucleus Pulposus Cells Is a Potential Therapeutic Target for Intervertebral Disc Degeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
When nucleus pulposus cells senesce, PHGDH decreases, reducing serine synthesis and glutathione, impairing antioxidant capacity. The intermediate α‐KG also drops, lowering JMJD3 demethylase activity, increasing H3K27me3 at the Rap1b promoter, and reducing Rap1b expression, whose down‐regulation in turn activates mTORC1 and suppresses autophagy ...

Smart Denture with Embedded Thin‐Film Temperature Sensors Patterned by Femtosecond Laser Pulse for Elderly Healthcare

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 7, Issue 3, March 2025.
We demonstrate the direct‐laser patterning of a gold thin film on polymethyl methacrylate to fabricate a temperature sensor for dentures. The temperature sensor‐embedded smart dentures are evaluated in an oral environment, enabling in‐situ monitoring for elderly healthcare.
