Design and Development ofa Mirror Effect Control Prosthetic Hand with Force Sensing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Some of the already available prosthetic hands in the market are operated in open loop, without any feedback and expensive. This system counters those by having the prosthetic hand printed using 3D printer and consist of a feedback sensor to make it a ...

Design and evaluation of prosthetic shoulder controller

open access: yesJournal of Rehabilitation Research and Development, 2014
We developed a 2-degree-of-freedom (DOF) shoulder position transducer (sensing shoulder protraction-retraction and elevation-depression) that can be used to control two of a powered prosthetic humerus' DOFs. We also developed an evaluation protocol based on Fitts' law to assess the performance of our device.

Can Elastomers Combine Stiffness, Toughness and Fatigue Resistance?

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review studies how the molecular and macroscopic architecture of elastomers influence their mechanical properties including: stiffness, stretchability, toughness, fatigue resistance, and damping behavior. By linking the structure to performance, it proposes design principles for advanced elastomeric systems that combine mechanical properties ...
