Application of Peptides Containing the Cleavage Sequence of Pro-TNFα in Assessing TACE Activity of Whole Cells [PDF]
Tumor necrosis factor-α (TNFα) is presumably shed from cell membranes by TNFα-cleaving enzyme (TACE). The peptides SPLAQAVRSSSR and Dabcyl-LAQAVRSSSR-Edans, each encompassing the cleavage sequence of pro-TNFα recognized by TACE, were applied to intact ...

PARP inhibitors are used to treat a small subset of prostate cancer patients. These studies reveal that PARP1 activity and expression are different between European American and African American prostate cancer tissue samples. Additionally, different PARP inhibitors cause unique and overlapping transcriptional changes, notably, p53 pathway upregulation.

Cloning and characterisation of two subtilisin-like protease genes from Neotyphodium lolii : a thesis presented in partial fulfilment of the requirements for the degree of Master of Science in Molecular Genetics at Massey University [PDF]
PCR amplification of Neotyphodium lolii genomic DNA with degenerate primers detected two different sequences with homology to subtilisin-like proteases. These two PCR products were used to screen a N. lolii Lp19 genomic library.

A‐to‐I editing of miRNAs, particularly miR‐200b‐3p, contributes to HGSOC progression by enhancing cancer cell proliferation, migration and 3D growth. The edited form is linked to poorer patient survival and the identification of novel molecular targets.

Beneficial role of allicin from garlic in cervical cancer [PDF]
Introduction: Cervical cancer remains a global health concern for females. Thus, in order to control cervical cancer, attempts are being made by researchers globally to somehow induce programmed cell death in the said cancerous cells.

YAP1::TFE3 mediates endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal plasticity in epithelioid hemangioendothelioma
The YAP1::TFE3 fusion protein drives endothelial‐to‐mesenchymal transition (EndMT) plasticity, resulting in the loss of endothelial characteristics and gain of mesenchymal‐like properties, including resistance to anoikis, increased migratory capacity, and loss of contact growth inhibition in endothelial cells.

Functional Characterization of Secreted Aspartyl Proteases in
Candida parapsilosis is an emerging non-albicans Candida species that largely affects low-birth-weight infants and immunocompromised patients. Fungal pathogenesis is promoted by the dynamic expression of diverse virulence factors, with secreted ...

ClgR regulation of chaperone and protease systems is essential for Mycobacterium tuberculosis parasitism of the macrophage [PDF]
Chaperone and protease systems play essential roles in cellular homeostasis and have vital functions in controlling the abundance of specific cellular proteins involved in processes such as transcription, replication, metabolism and virulence.
