Protection Zones for Survival of Species in Random Environment
SIAM Journal on Applied Mathematics, 2016The paper aims at studying ecosystems that are subject to random noise modelled by Brownian motion. The authors present sufficient conditions for permanence and extinction. These conditions are sharp. Ergodicity, convergence of probability measures to that of the invariant measure under total variation norm and rates of convergence are also obtained.

Species Selection for Soil Reinforcement and Protection
2008Species selection is vitally important for ensuring the success of any ecotechnological solution that may be employed on a particular site. The purpose of this chapter is to provide the engineer with a database of plant species that are suitable for both soil and slope stability by either mechanical or hydrological means, i.e., anchoring and ...

Protected Species and Biodiversity
This book provides a single source of guidance on the protected-species survey data that accompany planning applications. Comprehensive and clear, it is an essential reference for planners and ecological consultants. New development proposals potentially affect protected species on a daily basis.openaire +2 more sources
Children: a protected species in palliative care

2014
Earlier studies have found that endangered species recovery is only weakly associated with the tools enabled by the U.S. Endangered Species Act (ESA). With habitat loss often cited as a leading cause of species declines, we tested whether the recovery of ESA-listed species is instead associated with the protection of critical habitat (CH) by protected ...
