Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Control of Magnesium Alloy Corrosion through the Use of Engineered Intermetallics [PDF]
The low density and high relative strength of Mg alloys means they can offer engineering benefits over steels or Al alloys. However, the susceptibility of Mg alloys to corrosion has limited their exploitation and restricted their use to more benign ...

Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

CORROSION BEHAVIOUR OF THE AZ31 MAGNESIUM ALLOY AND SURFACE TREATMENTS FOR ITS CORROSION PROTECTION
Nowadays environmental conservation forces the transportation industry to manufacture lighter and low emissions transport vehicles. In this contest, magnesium alloys have found increasing attention by the automotive industry because of their low density ...

2015 International Conference on Textile Science and Engineering (CTSE 2015) [PDF]
Sunlight is a known skin carcinogen. Skin cancer is the most common form of cancer in humans, and typically affects sun-exposed parts of the body. Clothing provides a protective barrier that reduces the amount of ultraviolet radiation (UVR) reaching the ...

An investigation of naphthalenediimides as central building blocks in model compounds for scanning tunneling microscope induced light emission experiments and förster resonance energy transfer studies [PDF]
Scanning tunnelling microscopy (STM) is a powerful technique to observe surfaces at the atomic level. The resolution of this STM technique is good enough to study the electronic properties of single molecules adsorbed onto metallic substrates.

Targeted therapy was evaluated in SHH medulloblastoma using neuroepithelial stem cell (NES) and tumor‐derived NES‐like (tNES) models in 2D monolayers and 3D spheroids. PI3K, AKT, and CDK4/6 inhibitors had minimal effects in NES but markedly reduced viability and growth and induced apoptosis in tNES cells, revealing distinct therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Altered patterns of gene expression underlying the enhanced immunogenicity of radiation-attenuated schistosomes [PDF]
Schistosome cercariae only elicit high levels of protective immunity against a challenge infection if they are optimally attenuated by exposure to ionising radiation that truncates their migration in the lungs.
