Protein Docking mit weichen Volumenmodellen

open access: yes, 2003
Neumann S. Soft volume models for protein-protein docking. Bielefeld (Germany): Bielefeld University; 2003.Der Begriff "Protein Docking" beschreibt die Frage, ob und wie zwei gegebene Proteine interagieren, ausgehend von der 3D Struktur.

Examining post-translational modification-mediated protein-protein interactions using a chemical proteomics approach

open access: yes, 2013
Post-translational modifications (PTM) of proteins can control complex and dynamic cellular processes via regulating interactions between key proteins.

Septin 9 PB domains coordinate centrosome positioning and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Septin 9 polybasic domains couple phosphoinositide‐rich membrane binding to centrosome positioning, Golgi organization, and microtubule acetylation to control epithelial polarity. Their loss disrupts this axis, causing centrosome mispositioning, Golgi fragmentation, reduced microtubule acetylation, and polarity inversion via upregulation of the ...

Copper-dependent protein-protein interactions studied by yeast two-hybrid analysis

open access: yes, 2004
An important step in copper homeostasis is delivery of copper to a specific P-type ATPase in the Golgi apparatus (Ccc2 in yeast, ATP7A and ATP7B in humans) by a small copper chaperone protein (Atx1 in yeast, ATOX1 in humans).

Protein–Protein Interactions in Virus–Host Systems

open access: yesFrontiers in Microbiology, 2017
To study virus–host protein interactions, knowledge about viral and host protein architectures and repertoires, their particular evolutionary mechanisms, and information on relevant sources of biological data is essential.

Rab14 regulates the transport of human papillomavirus to the trans‐Golgi network for infectious cell entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This study reveals that the small GTPase Rab14 is necessary for human papillomavirus (HPV) infection and plays an essential role in the transport of virions to the trans‐Golgi network (TGN). HPV in the early endosome (EE), which harbors GTP‐bound Rab14, is transported to the TGN through the switch of Rab14 from its GTP‐bound to GDP‐bound form.

Analysis of High-Throughput Data - Protein-Protein Interactions, Protein Complexes and RNA Half-life

open access: yes, 2009
The development of high-throughput techniques has lead to a paradigm change in biology from the small-scale analysis of individual genes and proteins to a genome-scale analysis of biological systems.

Computational Design and Experimental Characterization of Protein Oligomers [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Previous efforts in designing protein binding interfaces have focused on altering binding specificities. These methods fall short, however, when applied to the design of novel binding sites due to difficulties in accurately modeling protein backbones ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.
