Association of Fontan Circulation With Gut Microbiome Derived Straight and Branched Short Chain Fatty Acids

open access: yesJournal of Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Volume 41, Issue 6, Page 1825-1836, June 2026.
Adults with Fontan circulation (n = 20) and matched controls underwent body composition, frailty testing, CPET, and NICaS hemodynamics. Plasma short‐chain fatty acids were quantified by LC–MS/MS. Fontan patients had higher straight and branched SCFAs, correlating with lower muscle mass, greater frailty, reduced VO2max, and worse resting/postexercise ...

Dietary management of normoalbuminaemic canine chronic enteropathies

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, Volume 67, Issue 6, Page 492-503, June 2026.

Hypogammaglobulinemia in a child with atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
We present a unique clinical case of an atypical hemolytic-uremic syndrome in a child. The mutation in exon 6 of the CD46 gene (chr1:207940532G>C) leads to a homozygous or hemizygous missense substitution.

Detection of Diagnostic Antibodies in Immune‐Mediated Diseases: A Focus on Antigens and Technologies

open access: yesChemBioChem, Volume 27, Issue 9, 14 May 2026.
This review explores autoantibody detection in immune‐mediated diseases, highlighting autoantigens including post‐translational modifications. We compared enzyme‐linked immunosorbent assay and indirect immunofluorescence with automated chemiluminescence platforms.

Protein-losing enteropathy [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Pathology, 1971
A large mass of evidence has been accumulated over the past 10 years which has conclusively demonstrated that the gastrointestinal tract plays a role in catabolism of plasma proteins (Wetterfors, 1965). An increased rate of catabolism resulting from excessive loss of plasma proteins into the gastrointestinal lumen is associated with hypoproteinaemia ...
