MICAL-1 isoforms, novel rab1 interacting proteins
Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 2003Rab1 GTPases participate in regulating the vesicular transport of ER-Golgi compartments. Recently, GM130, p115, and Golgin-84 were identified as effectors of the active conformation of rab1. Here, we describe a novel protein, MICAL-1b, a splice variant of the MICAL-1a protein.

Absolute Quantitation of Protein Posttranslational Modification Isoform
2015Mass spectrometry has been widely applied in characterization and quantification of proteins from complex biological samples. Because the numbers of absolute amounts of proteins are needed in construction of mathematical models for molecular systems of various biological phenotypes and phenomena, a number of quantitative proteomic methods have been ...

Protein phosphatase 1 catalytic isoforms: specificity toward interacting proteins
Translational Research, 2014The coordinated and reciprocal action of serine-threonine protein kinases and protein phosphatases produces transitory phosphorylation, a fundamental regulatory mechanism for many biological processes. Phosphoprotein phosphatase 1 (PPP1), a major serine-threonine phosphatase, in particular, is ubiquitously distributed and regulates a broad range of ...

Interactions and conversions of prion protein isoforms
2001Publisher Summary The properties of amyloidogenic protease-resistant form (PrP-res) have failed attempts to determine its high resolution structure. Nonetheless, low resolution analyses have shown that PrP-res retains significant α-helical content, but has much higher β-sheet content than PrP C .

SAA1 Protein Isoforms Induce Rheumatoid Arthritis
SSRN Electronic Journal, 2019Background: Secondary amyloid A amyloidosis, a lethal complication, is induced when acute or chronic infection coexisted with over-secretion of the SAA1 protein and deposition of SAA1 in key internal organs. Previously, using the whole-exome sequencing method, we identified the novel deleterious mutation SAA1.2 in rheumatoid arthritis (RA) patients ...
