The MULTICOM toolbox for protein structure prediction
Background As genome sequencing is becoming routine in biomedical research, the total number of protein sequences is increasing exponentially, recently reaching over 108 million. However, only a tiny portion of these proteins (i.e.

Tumor B‐cell infiltration in platinum‐treated advanced muscle‐invasive urothelial carcinoma
Bladder tumors with higher pretreatment memory B‐cell infiltration were linked to longer survival after cisplatin chemotherapy, but not carboplatin. These tumors also showed more organized immune structures (tertiary lymphoid structures) and a shared pro‐inflammatory B‐cell‐rich community, suggesting that memory B cells may help identify patients most ...

Size Dependence of Protein Diffusion in the Cytoplasm of Escherichia coli
Diffusion in the bacterial cytoplasm is regarded as the primary method of intracellular protein movement and must play a major role in controlling the rates of cell processes.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

A computer system to perform structure comparison using TOPS representations of protein structure
We describe the design and implementation of a fast topology–based method for protein structure comparison. The approach uses the TOPS topological representation of protein structure, aligning two structures using a common discovered pattern and ...

Enhanced Honey Bees Colony Algorithms For Protein Tertiary Structure Prediction [PDF]
There is no doubt about the role that protein plays in the biological processes inside the human body. Proteins are able to perform their biological functions when they fold into their tertiary structure.

The sodium-dependent D-glucose transport protein of Helicobacter pylori
Helicobacter pylori is a gram-negative pathogenic microaerophile with a particular tropism for the mucosal surface of the gastric epithelium. Despite its obligatory microaerophilic character, it can metabolize D-glucose and/or D-galactose in both ...
