Rheological Characteristics and Microstructure of Probiotic Soy Yogurt Prepared from Germinated Soybeans

open access: yesFood Technology and Biotechnology, 2012
Soy yogurts (sogurts) were prepared from germinated soybeans [Glycine max (L.) Merrill] with different hypocotyl lengths. This study is mainly focused on the effects of soybean germination on the rheological characteristics and the microstructure of ...

Interactions between Membrane Inclusions on Fluctuating Membranes

open access: yes, 1996
We model membrane proteins as anisotropic objects characterized by symmetric-traceless tensors and determine the coupling between these order-parameters and membrane curvature.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

Human Gliomedin and Ryanodine 3 Type Receptor Is the Key to Explain the Guillain Barre Syndrome in SARS-CoV-2 and Others Bacterial Related to SARS-CoV-2 Postinfection? A Molecular Mimicry Point of View

open access: yesImmuno
Guillain-Barre syndrome is an autoimmune disease that provokes neural illness causing acute paralysis neuropathy. This syndrome appears after some bacterial infections produced by Campylobacter jejuni, Streptococcus pyogenes, S.
