Photonic Crystal Enhanced Microscopy on a 2D Photonic Crystal Surface

This work demonstrates the design, fabrication, and the first‐time test of a 2D photonic crystal surface for photonic resonator absorption microscopy. Microneedles From Shape‐Preserving Crosslinked Poly(Vinyl Alcohol) Hydrogels: Minimising Interference in Transdermal Proteomics

Hydrogel‐forming microneedle patches are developed using shape‐preserving PVA‐PVP hydrogels, with and without chitosan, for minimally invasive transdermal protein biomarker sampling. The optimised patches enable efficient interstitial fluid uptake and proteomic analysis, while minimising interference.

Gut microbiota and biomarkers are linked to diseases like neurological disorders and metabolic syndromes. Ingestible capsule robots enable minimally invasive gut health assessment. This article proposes a promising direction for the advancement of capsule robots, integrating in situ sampling, real‐time diagnostics, and personalized therapy.

This review critically synthesises recent advancements in AI‐assisted neuroimaging, blood‐based biomarker profiling, wearable biosensing platforms for early detection, injury stratification, and longitudinal surveillance of TBIs.
