Uncovering the Scaling Laws of Hard Exclusive Hadronic Processes in a Comprehensive Endpoint Model [PDF]

We show that an endpoint overlap model can explain the scaling laws observed in exclusive hadronic reactions at large momentum transfer. The model assumes one of the valence quarks carries most of the hadron momentum.

Emission of neutron–proton and proton–proton pairs in neutrino scattering [PDF]

We use a recently developed model of relativistic meson-exchange currents to compute the neutron-proton and proton-proton yields in $( _ , ^-)$ scattering from $^{12}$C in the 2p-2h channel. We compute the response functions and cross sections with the relativistic Fermi gas model for different kinematics from intermediate to high momentum transfers.

Blocking the voltage‐gated sodium channel hNav1.5 as a novel pH‐dependent mechanism of action for tamoxifen

Patch‐clamp recordings revealed that tamoxifen inhibits voltage‐gated sodium channels, especially under acidic conditions, both common in metastatic cancer cells. These effects may explain certain antitumor properties of tamoxifen, highlighting a novel mechanism of action beyond its known endocrine effects.

Measurements of the proton-proton differential scattering cross section using 340 Mev protons show a cross section approximately constant between 41{sup o} and 90{sup o} in the center of mass system. Two methods of counting the scattered protons have been used. The first method uses a counter telescope to count the scattered protons.

Microbial profile of the appendix niche in acute appendicitis: a novel sampling approach

This study utilized a novel sampling method, ERAT (i.e. endoscopic retrograde appendicitis treatment)‐guided lumen aspiration, to obtain samples from the appendix, and shotgun metagenomic sequencing was performed for in situ characterization of the appendix microbiome in patients with acute appendicitis.

Structural and functional characterization of chitinase from carnivorous plant Drosera adelae

A class I chitinase from the carnivorous plant Drosera adelae was expressed and purified using a yeast system, revealing high enzymatic activity. Structural analyses of the catalytic and chitin‐binding domains identified key tyrosine residues involved in substrate binding, offering insights into the enzyme's adaptation for insect digestion.
