Pencil‐beam scanning proton therapy for the treatment of glomus jugulare tumours
Introduction Glomus jugulare tumours (GJT) are benign tumours that arise locally and destructively in the base of the skull and can be successfully treated with radiotherapy.

In human monocytic cells THP‐1, a limited uptake of native—not oxidized—LDL/VLDL induced expression of scavenger receptor A and cellular adhesion. Induction was inhibited by lysosomotropic (WR‐1065) and lipophilic (BHT) antioxidants and by siRNAs against ferritinophagy.

Objective: To determine under what conditions and criteria comparisons between calculations made with the current clinical treatment planning system (Syngo) and an in-house built TPS (TIMPS) would allow skipping of in-beam portal-specific measurements ...

Parity violation in high-energy proton-proton scattering [PDF]
A new approach is proposed to describe the parity violation in the process of scattering of a polarized proton by a proton at high energies. It is shown that in the tree approximation the P-odd amplitude of proton-proton scattering is substantially smaller than the P-odd amplitude in proton-neutron scattering.

Treatment outcomes of passive scattering proton beam therapy for stage I non-small cell lung cancer
Introduction To investigate the treatment outcomes of passive scattering proton beam therapy using stereotactic ablative radiotherapy (SABR) or hypofractionated radiation therapy (RT) for inoperable patients or those who refused surgery for stage I non ...

Possible Method for Measuring the Proton Form Factors in Processes with and without Proton Spin Flip [PDF]
The ratio of the squares of the electric and magnetic proton form factors is shown to be proportional to the ratio of the cross sections for the elastic scattering of an unpolarized electron on a partially polarized proton with and without proton spin flip.

Proton-Proton Scattering at 340 MeV [PDF]
Measurements of the proton-proton differential scattering cross section using 340 Mev protons show a cross section approximately constant between 41{sup o} and 90{sup o} in the center of mass system. Two methods of counting the scattered protons have been used. The first method uses a counter telescope to count the scattered protons.

Particle production from the Color Glass Condensate: proton-nucleus collisions in light of the HERA data [PDF]
We compute single inclusive hadron production in proton-proton and proton-nucleus collisions consistently within the CGC framework. The parameters in the calculations are obtained from electron-proton DIS and standard nuclear geometry. We obtain a good description of the DIS data without an anomalous dimension in the initial condition of the BK ...
