D‐amino acid oxidase as a chemogenetic tool for spatiotemporally controlled hydrogen peroxide production: The oxygen connection

open access: yesBritish Journal of Pharmacology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background and Purpose D‐amino acid oxidase (DAO) has been developed as a chemogenetic tool, to precisely manipulate redox levels in tissues and cells by generating H2O2 in the presence of D‐amino acids. The enzyme's significant oxygen consumption during H2O2 production may influence cellular oxygen levels.

Clinical and Radiographic Performance of Two Distinct Sandblasted, Large‐Grit, Acid‐Etched Implant Surfaces: A Split‐Mouth Randomized Clinical Trial

open access: yesClinical Oral Implants Research, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Aim To compare the clinical performance of two sandblasted, large‐grit, acid‐etched implant surfaces regarding changes in radiographic marginal bone level (MBL) 12 months after loading. Materials and Methods In this randomized, split‐mouth, dual‐center clinical trial, each patient received one test (modified hydrophilic surface) implant and ...

Evaluation of Temporomandibular Joint Structures and Conditions Using Dental‐Dedicated MRI: A Feasibility Study

open access: yesJournal of Oral Rehabilitation, EarlyView.
This study assessed the feasibility of ddMRI in evaluating TMJ anatomic conditions, and explored how its performance in depicting bony components compares with that of CBCT. ABSTRACT Background MRI is the most viable alternative to depict the soft tissues of the TMJ, and a recently developed dental‐dedicated MRI (ddMRI) brings new possibilities to ...

Concurrent ANNPE and vertebral T‐cell lymphoma in a dog: A case report

open access: yesJournal of Small Animal Practice, EarlyView.
Acute non‐compressive nucleus pulposus extrusion (ANNPE) is a recognised cause of peracute spinal cord injury in dogs, involving sudden extrusion of non‐degenerated nucleus pulposus with minimal compression. While often linked to vigorous activity, its triggers remain unclear.

Understanding Impact of Anti‐Obesity Medications on Skeletal Muscle Mass Change Is Confounded by Measurement Methods

open access: yesObesity Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Anti‐obesity medications promote greater degrees of weight loss than lifestyle interventions alone. There is an important need to understand whether loss of skeletal muscle during pharmacologically induced weight loss is clinically significant due to its essential role in health and disease.
