Secular Stability with Departures from 'He Equilibrium in the Proton-Proton Chain

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal, 1973
When departures from the equilibrium in the proton-proton chain are taken into account, the classical secular modes are modified and new modes are introduced. The corresponding modes of a two-zone model consisting of a core and an envelope are examined and found to be stable. (auth)

Calculation of Equilibrium and Pre-equilibrium 4He-Emission Spectra at 62 MeV Proton Incident Energy

open access: yesJournal of Fusion Energy, 2010
In this study, the 4He-emission cross sections for 27Al, 54,56Fe, 197Au, 208Pb and 209Bi target nuclei have been calculated at 62 MeV proton energy. In these calculations, the pre-equilibrium effects have been investigated. The pre-equilibrium calculations involve the geometry dependent hybrid model and hybrid model.

n‐Type Semiconductor Hydrogels for Tunable Organic Electrochemical Transistors Operation and Evaporation‐Driven Synergistic Energy Harvesting and Thermal Management

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
This study develops a tunable n‐OSC hydrogel (PBFDO‐PAAc) platform with a tunable porous network and thermoelectric properties. It demonstrates the first report of n‐OSC hydrogels for evaporation‐driven hydrovoltaic‐thermoelectric electricity generation as well as chemically dedoping‐mediated OECT working mode reconfiguration. This work expands n‐OSCs’

Interaction‐Driven Assembly Pathways in Heterogeneous Active Microrobotic Systems

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Peanut‐ and cube‐shaped light‐powered microrobots exhibit distinct magnetic and photocatalytic responses that determine their heterogeneous self‐assembly. In the dark, magnetic dipole interactions drive colloidal copolymerization with cubes acting as nucleation centers, whereas under light irradiation, phoretic interactions compete with magnetic ...

POSS‐PEG‐NHS and GSH Cocrosslink DPAV to Prepare Anticalcification Bioprosthetic Scaffold With Enhanced Reendothelization, Anti‐inflammation, and Anti‐ROS

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
POSS‐PEG‐NHS and GSH cocrosslinked DPAV to prepare a multifunctional anticalcification valve substitute. This modification enhances mechanical properties, hemocompatibility, and re‐endothelialization while promoting anti‐inflammatory M2 macrophage infiltration and reducing calcification.

Interfacial modulation of alkaloid release pathways in aqueous-polyol solvents: Protonation-dependent vaporization kinetics

open access: yesResults in Chemistry
The release efficiency of alkaloids (e.g. nicotine) in aerosol-generating systems is strongly influenced by solvent-mediated molecular interactions at interfaces.

Tomographic Printing in a Chip: A Versatile Platform for Biomimetic 3D Organ‐on‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A novel light‐based bioprinting approach, TVAM‐in‐a‐chip, enables rapid, contactless fabrication of biomimetic 3D organ‐on‐chip devices directly within preassembled microfluidic platforms. This strategy supports diverse materials, including cell‐laden resins, and eliminates post‐assembly steps.

Adsorptive Removal of Heavy Metal from Acidic Wastewater with Biochar Produced from Anaerobically Digested Residues: Kinetics and Surface Complexation Modeling

open access: yesBioResources, 2014
In this study, the adsorptive characteristics of biochar generated from anaerobically digested garden wastes (AD-char) were investigated. Metal adsorption onto AD-chars reached equilibrium in 48 h; the adsorption capacity of Cu2+ by AD-char was 182 μmol ...
