Trisubstituted pyrazolopyrimidines as novel angiogenesis inhibitors. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Current inhibitors of angiogenesis comprise either therapeutic antibodies (e.g. bevacicumab binding to VEGF-A) or small molecular inhibitors of receptor tyrosin kinases like e.g. sunitinib, which inhibits PDGFR and VEGFR.

Exploring the Anticancer Potential of Novel Piperidine‐Embedded Isoxazol–Triazole Conjugates Against MCF‐7 Human Breast Adenocarcinoma Cell Line: Design, Synthesis, In Silico, and In Vitro Investigations

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Novel piperidine–embedded isoxazol–triazole conjugates (6a‐6o) were designed, synthesized, and evaluated for anticancer activity against MCF‐7 breast cancer cells, with selectivity assessed using noncancerous HEK293 cells. Compound 6m showed the most potent antiproliferative activity (GI50 < 10 µg/mL; SI > 5), comparable to doxorubicin, highlighting ...

Phytochemical Analysis Using LC–MS/MS and Anticancer Activity of Asphodelus tenuifolius Roots: Cell Cycle Arrest, Apoptosis, and In Silico Insights

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
LC–HRMS/MS profiling of the hydroethanolic root extract of A. tenuifolius identifies 58 metabolites, including luteolin, emodin, luteolin‐7‐O‐β‐D‐glucoside, subaphyllin, and N‐trans‐feruloyltyramine. Integrated biological and computational analyses reveal apoptosis induction, G0/G1 cell‐cycle arrest, and multi‐target interactions, highlighting the ...

Essential Oil Compositions and Biological Activities of Broussonetia papyrifera Aerial Parts: An Integrated In Vitro and In Silico Study

open access: yesChemistry &Biodiversity, Volume 23, Issue 9, September 2026.
Essential oils from B. papyrifera stem bark and leaves were characterized by a high abundance of oxygenated sesquiterpenes, particularly spathulenol and (Z)‐dihydro‐apofarnesol. Both essential oils exhibited antioxidant and anti‐inflammatory activities, along with moderate cytotoxic effects.

Differential in vitro and in vivo effect of barley cysteine and serine protease inhibitors on phytopathogenic microorganisms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Protease inhibitors from plants have been involved in defence mechanisms against pests and pathogens. Phytocystatins and trypsin/α-amylase inhibitors are two of the best characterized protease inhibitor families in plants.
