Newfoundland Capelin: Proximate Composition

Journal of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada, 1969
Proximate analysis data for whole beach-spawning capelin from various parts of Newfoundland collected over a period of 20 years is generally similar when allowance is made for trends occurring during the brief spawning season. These trends, more evident in males, are, concurrently, a sharp decline in fat content, a slight increase in moisture, and a ...

Proximal composition of base malts

2023
In this work, the proximal composition of seven base malts were evaluated. Wheat malt had the highest moisture content, and protein and the lowest lipid, ash, and carbohydrate content, the lowest color, and Brix. The lowest moisture, highest color, and ash content were from Munich malt.

Mineral and proximate composition of borage

Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 1992
Abstract Borage (Borago officinalis comunis) is a plant commonly cultivated for consumption in Spain and other countries. The objective of this study has been to determine the proximate and mineral composition. The edible part of the plant corresponds to the basal leaf petioles.

Proximate Composition Analysis

2015
The proximate composition of foods includes moisture, ash, lipid, protein and carbohydrate contents. These food components may be of interest in the food industry for product development, quality control (QC) or regulatory purposes. Analyses used may be rapid methods for QC or more accurate but time-consuming official methods.

Proximate composition of Antarctic mesopelagic fishes

Marine Biology, 1990
Eleven mesopelagic fish species from the Weddell/Scotia Sea region of the Antarctic captured during the austral spring 1983, austral fall 1986, and austral winter 1988, were analyzed for proximate composition. Water, ash level, protein, lipid and carbohydrate were examined in relation to depth of occurrence and season.

Shellfish: Proximate composition, minerals, fatty acids, and sterols

Journal of the American Dietetic Association, 1990
Proximate composition, minerals, fatty acids, and sterols were determined for eight species of shellfish commonly marketed in the Northwest. Moisture and total lipid content varied with the size of the species, with more variation in mollusca than in crustacea; total lipid content ranged from 0.7% in sea scallops to 3.1% in blue mussels but only from 1.

Proximity effects in a fine composite

Physics Letters A, 1967
Abstract A fine Nb-Cu composite displays three distinct Meissner effects, two of which are due to primary and secondary proximity effects in the copper caused by the geometry of the composite.

Proximal Femur Reconstruction by an Allograft Prosthesis Composite

Clinical Orthopaedics and Related Research, 2002
Twenty-seven patients who had resection of the proximal femur for bone tumors and reconstruction with an allograft prosthesis composite are reported. In most of the patients, the prosthesis was a long-stem revision type, cemented in the allograft and uncemented in the femoral shaft.
