A Proximal ADMM for Decentralized Composite Optimization
IEEE Signal Processing Letters, 2018In this letter, we propose a proximal alternating direction method of multiplier (ADMM) to solve the composite optimization problem over a decentralized network. Compared with existing methods, such as PG-EXTRA and IC-ADMM, the proposed decentralized proximal ADMM method does not rely on assuming a smooth + nonsmooth structure on the objective ...

Proximal composition of base malts
2023In this work, the proximal composition of seven base malts were evaluated. Wheat malt had the highest moisture content, and protein and the lowest lipid, ash, and carbohydrate content, the lowest color, and Brix. The lowest moisture, highest color, and ash content were from Munich malt.

Mineral and proximate composition of borage
Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 1992Abstract Borage (Borago officinalis comunis) is a plant commonly cultivated for consumption in Spain and other countries. The objective of this study has been to determine the proximate and mineral composition. The edible part of the plant corresponds to the basal leaf petioles.

Proximity effects in a fine composite
Physics Letters A, 1967Abstract A fine Nb-Cu composite displays three distinct Meissner effects, two of which are due to primary and secondary proximity effects in the copper caused by the geometry of the composite.

Newfoundland Capelin: Proximate Composition
Journal of the Fisheries Research Board of Canada, 1969Proximate analysis data for whole beach-spawning capelin from various parts of Newfoundland collected over a period of 20 years is generally similar when allowance is made for trends occurring during the brief spawning season. These trends, more evident in males, are, concurrently, a sharp decline in fat content, a slight increase in moisture, and a ...

Proximal Newton methods for convex composite optimization
52nd IEEE Conference on Decision and Control, 2013This paper proposes two proximal Newton methods for convex nonsmooth optimization problems in composite form. The algorithms are based on a new continuously differentiable exact penalty function, namely the Composite Moreau Envelope. The first algorithm is based on a standard line search strategy, whereas the second one combines the global efficiency ...

Composite grafts in the treatment of osteosarcoma of the proximal humerus
Cell and Tissue Banking, 2003Treatment of osteosarcoma (OSA) of the proximal humerus poses many difficulties and challenges to the treating team. Between 1993 and 2000, we treated 11 patients (three women, eight men; age range, 17-74 years) suffering from OSA of the proximal humerus by 'composite': massive allografts and long humeral prosthesis.
