Species- and cultivar-dependent traits of Prunus avium and Prunus cerasus polyphenols

Journal of Food Composition and Analysis, 2016
Abstract In this work, we compared the patterns of polyphenol components from five varieties of cherries belonging to the family of Prunus avium (sweet cherry, 3 cultivars ) and Prunus cerasus (tart cherry, 2 cultivars ). The total phenol content was determined by the Folin–Ciocalteu method and the in vitro antioxidant activity by the ORAC ...

The development of protoplast-to-tree systems for Prunus cerasifera and Prunus spinosa

Plant Science, 1992
Abstract Strategies are presented that permitted the successful isolation of large numbers of highly viable mesophyll protoplasts of Prunus cerasifera and P. spinosa and their conversion to whole plants. Using a modified MS-based medium, supplemented with 2,4-D and BAP (for P. cerasifera clone P2032), with NAA and zeatin (for P.
