Zusammenfassung In allen oberirdischen Organen von Prunus avium wird enzymatisch abspaltbare Blausaure gefunden. Gaschromatographisch wird in den vegetativen Teilen (auser Zweigholz) d -Mandelsaurenitril-β glucosid (Prunasin), in den generativen Teilen Prunasin und d -Mandelsaurenitril-β-gentiobiosid (Amygdalin) nachgewiesen.

Wild cherry (Prunus avium L.) is native from central-eastern European temperate forests and it has only recently been introduced in intensive forest tree farming practices outside its natural range.
