Prurigo nodularis.

Prurigo nodularis is a chronic skin disorder that is frequently misdiagnosed. It is characterized by multiple pea-sized nodules that develop on the skin, particularly on the anterior leg and thigh. These lesions are intensely pruritic and frequently become excoriated and infected.

Prurigo Nodularis and Uremia

Patients with uremia frequently have generalized pruritus that is usually related to a disturbance of calcium and phosphorus metabolism. This report describes three patients with uremia who had prurigo nodularis due to localized scratching and rubbing.
