Characterization of gut-homing molecules in non-endstage livers of patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis and inflammatory bowel disease

open access: yesJournal of Translational Autoimmunity, 2020
Introduction: The co-occurrence of inflammatory bowel disease (IBD) in up to 80% of patients with primary sclerosing cholangitis (PSC) suggests a relation between the gut and the liver in patients with both PSC and IBD.

Wt1 is involved in pancreas development and adult pancreatic homeostasis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The embryonic mesothelium lining the visceral organs gives rise to mesenchymal cells through a localized epithelial-mesenchymal transition (EMT). This has been extensively studied in some cases, such as the heart, where the epicardium gives rise to ...

Development of Photo‐Biocatalytic Redox System for Asymmetric Synthesis of Optically Active Amines Using Blue Light and Transaminases. A Case Study Toward Mavacamten

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
Abstract α‐Chiral amines are versatile building blocks for the asymmetric synthesis of optically pure high‐added‐value chemicals, including pharmaceuticals, agrochemicals, and natural products. Herein, we report a one‐pot, two‐step sequential deracemization of racemic sec‐alcohols to optically enriched primary amines throught a photo‐biocatalytic ...

Relationship of PSC to embryos: Extending and refining capture of PSC lines from mammalian embryos

open access: yesBioEssays
AbstractPluripotent stem cell lines derived from preimplantation mouse embryos have opened opportunities for the study of early mammalian development and generation of genetically uncompromised material for differentiation into specific cell types. Murine embryonic stem cells are highly versatile and can be engineered and introduced into host embryos ...

AAVR Expression is Essential for AAV Vector Transduction in Sensory Hair Cells

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Decreased sensitivity to AAV vector transduction in the outer hair cells (OHCs) of adult mice is primarily attributed to reduction of AAVR (Kiaa0319l; Au040320). Knockout of AAVR reduces AAV vector transduction efficiency in both inner hair cells (IHCs) and OHCs in neonatal mice.
