Review of POGO and PSD

open access: yes, 2003
To reduce the possibility of longitudinal dynamic instability, called "POGO", in the liquid rocket system due to the feedback effect of a main structure and a fuel-feeding system, several different types of PSD(POGO Suppression Device) systems ...

Three‐Layer‐Structured Garnet‐Dominant Composite Solid Electrolyte for Solid‐State Batteries

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
The three‐layer‐structured garnet‐dominant composite solid electrolyte (GD‐CSE) is designed for solid‐state batteries. The GD‐CSE is composed of over 80 wt. % contents of LGLZO. This three‐layer CSE has high ionic conductivity and high potential stability.

Modulating Electronic Structure of Atomic Iron Catalyst by Metallic Cobalt Cooperation for Boosting Oxygen Reduction/Evolution Reactions in Rechargeable and Flexible Zinc‐Air Battery

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Porous Co,Fe@NCNF‐900 catalyst has been innovatively synthesized as enhanced bifunctional catalysts by modulating the electronic structure of the atomic Fe catalyst through metallic Co cooperation. DFT analysis indicates that metallic Co as an electron donor can induce electron redistribution of the atomic Fe catalyst, thereby reducing the rate ...

Synaptic Accumulation of PSD-95 and Synaptic Function Regulated by Phosphorylation of Serine-295 of PSD-95

open access: yes, 2007
SummaryThe scaffold protein PSD-95 promotes the maturation and strengthening of excitatory synapses, functions that require proper localization of PSD-95 in the postsynaptic density (PSD).

Energy Balancing of Electrochemical Alternatives to the Solvay Process

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.
To overcome the CaCl2 and CO2 emissions custom to the conventional Solvay process in soda ash production, electrochemically based alternatives were investigated. In particular, the mass‐ and energy balances for chlor‐alkali electrolysis and bipolar electrodialysis‐based processes are discussed comprehensively in the presented work.

Durable fear memories require PSD-95

open access: yes, 2014
Traumatic fear memories are highly durable but also dynamic, undergoing repeated reactivation and rehearsal over time. Although overly persistent fear memories underlie anxiety disorders, such as posttraumatic stress disorder, the key neural and ...

SiC/Si ceramic hollow fibres: A new approach to Chlorella vulgaris biomass harvesting

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Efficient harvesting of microalgae is a critical challenge for the viability of biorefineries, requiring technologies that combine high selectivity, low cost, and scalability. The current work evaluated the performance of an asymmetric hollow fibre ceramic membrane (HF‐SiC70Si30), fabricated by phase inversion and sintered at 1250°C, in the ...

Natural South African iron‐rich sand as a functional catalyst in hybrid photocatalytic wet peroxide oxidation technology for the degradation of methyl orange dye pollutant

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
This research explored South African iron‐rich sand (SAIRS) as a natural catalyst for light‐mediated wet peroxide oxidation of methyl orange dye in wastewater and at an optimized of conditions of 3500 mg/L catalyst dose, 6 mM H2O2, and pH 2.5, SAIRS achieved 94% methyl orange degradation within 90 min under visible light.
