Waste Sawdust‐Derived Hard Carbon Anodes With Engineered Interlayer Spacing for Sodium‐Ion Batteries Exhibiting High Initial Coulombic Efficiency

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
It is demonstrated that waste sawdust, a green, eco‐friendly, and low‐cost biomass byproduct, can be converted into high‐performance hard carbon through the application of a precisely controlled heating rate. This strategy is optimized and validated through first‐principles calculations, achieving precise control over interlayer spacing and pore ...

Vibrational Circular Dichroism Spectra of 2,5‐Diaminoterephtalate Macrocycles Reveal Distant Vibrational Exciton Coupling

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
The energy level diagrams for the ν(C═O) and the δ(N─H) vibrations, resulting of combining in‐phase and out‐of‐phase modes on the basis of their local symmetries, was built by applying the exciton coupling theory to a new class of chiral macrocycles, based on the 2,5‐diaminoterephthalate scaffold.

Characterization of alcohol-containing dairy emulsions: pseudo-ternary phase diagrams of sodium caseinate-oil-ethanol systems

open access: yes, 2011
The physical properties and the stability of alcohol containing emulsions made with sodium caseinate using two types of oil, canola oil and coconut oil, were investigated. The region of emulsion stability was presented on ternary phase diagrams. Emulsion stability was limited to emulsion compositions in the range of sodium caseinate solutions between ...
