Cystic Fibrosis and Pseudomonas aeruginosa: the Host-Microbe Interface
In human pathophysiology, the clash between microbial infection and host immunity contributes to multiple diseases. Cystic fibrosis (CF) is a classical example of this phenomenon, wherein a dysfunctional, hyperinflammatory immune response combined with ...

Pseudomonas rhinosinusitis [PDF]
AbstractAlthough rare in the otherwise healthy patient, pseudomonas rhinosinusitis is encountered most frequently in the immunocompromised host or severely traumatized patient. Intravenous antibiotic therapy in conjunction with aggressive surgical drainage is required. Two cases are documented that are typical of this philosophy.

Ferric uptake regulator Fur is conditionally essential in Pseudomonas aeruginosa [PDF]
In Pseudomonas aeruginosa, the ferric uptake regulator (Fur) protein controls both metabolism and virulence in response to iron availability. Differently from other bacteria, attempts to obtain fur deletion mutants of P. aeruginosa failed, leading to the

Phage selection restores antibiotic sensitivity in MDR Pseudomonas aeruginosa
Increasing prevalence and severity of multi-drug-resistant (MDR) bacterial infections has necessitated novel antibacterial strategies. Ideally, new approaches would target bacterial pathogens while exerting selection for reduced pathogenesis when these ...

We obtained potential bacterial laccase‐like multicopper oxidase (LMCO) sequences through metagenomic sequencing. All sequences exhibited significant differences from known LMCOs in databases. To select the most promising candidates, we performed structure prediction and molecular docking using alphafold2, metal3d and rosetta.
