Innovative Field Applications of Probiotics, Prebiotics, and Medicinal Plant Products for Disease Control in Aquaculture

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Disease outbreaks and the associated reliance on antibiotics pose major constraints to the sustainability of modern aquaculture. As regulatory pressures increase and consumer demand shifts toward residue‐free production, diverse biological interventions are gaining prominence as viable alternatives to chemotherapeutics.

Biocontrol of Avocado Dematophora Root Rot by Antagonistic Pseudomonas fluorescens PCL1606 Correlates With the Production of 2-Hexyl 5-Propyl Resorcinol

open access: yesMolecular Plant-Microbe Interactions, 2006
A collection of 905 bacterial isolates from the rhizospheres of healthy avocado trees was obtained and screened for antagonistic activity against Dematophora necatrix, the cause of avocado Dematophora root rot (also called white root rot). A set of eight

Calcium and Nitrogen Availability Controls Root Exudation in Hydroponically Cultured Barley

open access: yesPlant, Cell &Environment, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Root exudation is a key component of plant‐rhizosphere interactome. It is increasingly evident that root exudates influence rhizospheric microbial communities and in turn can benefit plants through improved resource allocation. However, how suboptimal nutrient availability relates to control of root exudation is poorly understood.

The non-classical ArsR-family repressor PyeR (PA4354) modulates biofilm formation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
PyeR (PA4354) is a novel member of the ArsR family of transcriptional regulators and modulates biofilm formation in Pseudomonas aeruginosa. Characterization of this regulator showed that it has negative autoregulatory properties and binds to a ...

Characterization and Removal of Multispecies Biofilms Formed by L. monocytogenes, S. aureus, and E. coli

open access: yesJournal of Food Safety, Volume 46, Issue 4, August 2026.
The formation of mono‐, dual‐, and triple‐species biofilms by L. monocytogenes, S. aureus, and E. coli was characterized by cell growth, metabolic activity, staining, and microscopy. Their resistance to a commercial disinfectant (NaOCl) and natural agents such as vinegar and lactic acid was evaluated.

The role of the WspR responce regulator in the adaptive evolution of experimental populations of Pseudomonas Fluorescens SBW25

open access: yes, 2002
The role of ecological opportunity in adaptive radiation has been demonstrated by the diversification of the bacterium Pseudomonas fluorescens SBW25 in a spatially structured microcosm.

Fungal disease management in cotton using plant protection products: An Australian perspective

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 7, Page 6010-6023, July 2026.
Cotton disease management requires evidence‐driven use of plant protection products. Progress hinges on integrating chemistry, diagnostics, stewardship and sustainability to build resilient production systems. Abstract Cotton production faces persistent challenges from pathogens that compromise plant establishment, yield, and fibre quality.

An investigation of mono-chlorophenol degradation and the bioaugmentation of activated sludge by two pseudomonas putida species [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The degradation of all three mono-chlorophenols by two Pseudomonas putida species, A(a) and CPI, was investigated Pseudomonas putida A(a) metabolised 4-chlorophenol to completion via the meta-cleavage pathway but the degradation of 2- and 3- chlorophenol
