1979Publisher Summary This chapter describes pantothenase from pseudomonas fluorescens. Pantothenase (EC. 3.5.1.22) is a bacterial amidase that specifically decomposes pantothenic acid to β-alanine and pantoic acid. It is the first enzyme in the degradative metabolism of pantothenate.
