Pre‐planned reappraisal via implementation intention down‐regulates emotional experiences of youth with self‐reported depressive symptoms

open access: yesGeneral Psychiatry, Volume 39, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Cognitive reappraisal is an emotion‐regulation strategy that involves altering the emotional impact of a situation by changing its appraisal. However, individuals with depressive symptoms often struggle to deploy momentary cognitive reappraisal during emotional encounters due to impaired cognitive control.

Enhancing Structural Reliability of Composite Adhesive Joints: An Integrated Experimental‐Numerical‐Machine Learning Framework for Material‐Geometric Co‐Optimization

open access: yesPolymer Composites, Volume 47, Issue 18, Page 17023-17048, 20 September 2026.
An integrated experimental, numerical, and explainable machine learning framework for the material‐geometric co‐optimization and multi‐objective Pareto design of robust composite adhesive joints. ABSTRACT The reliability of composite adhesive joints is compromised by non‐linear dependencies between material properties and manufacturing uncertainties ...

Fundamental Challenges, Physical Implementations, and Integration Strategies for Ising Machines in Large‐Scale Optimization Tasks

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, Volume 12, Issue 17, 7 September 2026.
Ising machines are emerging as specialized hardware solvers for computationally hard optimization problems. This review examines five major platforms—digital CMOS, analog CMOS, emerging devices, coherent optics, and quantum systems—highlighting physics‐rooted advantages and shared bottlenecks in scalability and connectivity.

Extracellular matrix remodeling upregulates hippocampal neurogenic niche stiffness and impairs neurogenesis in Alzheimer's disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Preserving adult hippocampal neurogenesis alleviates cognitive deficits in Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet how biophysical alterations in such as stiffness in the neurogenic niche regulate neurogenesis remains unclear. METHODS Stiffness in the hippocampal dentate gyrus subgranular cell zone (SGZ) of 5×FAD mice was measured using ...

Non-linear M -sequences Generation Method

open access: yesБезопасность информационных технологий, 2011
The article deals with a new method for modeling a pseudorandom number generator based on R-blocks. The gist of the method is the replacement of a multi digit XOR element by a stochastic adder in a parallel binary linear feedback shift register scheme.

Pseudorandom Number Generators [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Sequences of pseudorandom numbers are needed for applications of stochastic simulation. Usually they are generated in the computer by a deterministic algorithm which produces a sequence of standard pseudorandom numbers, i.e. a sequence of numbers which “behave” as a realization of a sequence of independent identically distributed random variables ...

Compact digital pseudorandom number generator

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1995
A general-purpose easy-to-implement random number generator is presented. It features an 8 bit word size, good statistical properties and repeatability of the generated sequence. The circuit has been included in the design of many systems, ranging from neural networks to cryptography.

Cryptanalytic Attacks on Pseudorandom Number Generators [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
In this paper we discuss PRNGs: the mechanisms used by real-world secure systems to generate cryptographic keys, initialization vectors, "random" nonces, and other values assumed to be random. We argue that PRNGs are their own unique type of cryptographic primitive, and should be analyzed as such.

Technology‐natives and technology‐adopters: Age differences in remote cognitive assessment in Alzheimer disease

open access: yesAlzheimer's &Dementia, Volume 22, Issue 9, September 2026.
Abstract INTRODUCTION Cognitive changes in the asymptomatic stages of Alzheimer disease (AD) are subtle and difficult to detect using conventional cognitive tests. High‐frequency smartphone‐based testing may improve sensitivity to these changes, but generational differences in technology use could influence performance.
