An adaptive pseudospectral method for wave packet dynamics

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2012
We solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for molecular dynamics using a pseudospectral method with global, exponentially decaying, Hagedorn basis functions. The approximation properties of the Hagedorn basis depend strongly on the scaling of the spatial coordinates.

A pseudospectral method of solution of Fisher's equation

open access: yes, 2006
In this paper, we develop an accurate and efficient pseudospectral solution of Fisher's equation, a prototypical reaction–diffusion equation. The solutions of Fisher's equation are characterized by propagating fronts that can be very steep for large ...

A multidimensional pseudospectral method for optimal control of quantum ensembles,” [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
In our previous work, we have shown that the pseudospectral method is an effective and flexible computation scheme for deriving pulses for optimal control of quantum systems. In practice, however, quantum systems often exhibit variation in the parameters

A Jacobi Rational Pseudospectral Method For Lane–Emden Initial Value Problems Arising In Astrophysics On A Semi-Infinite Interval

open access: yes, 2014
We derive an operational matrix representation for the differentiation of Jacobi rational functions, which is used to create a new Jacobi rational pseudospectral method based on the operational matrix of Jacobi rational functions.

A Matrix Method Based on the Fibonacci Polynomials to the Generalized Pantograph Equations with Functional Arguments

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2014
A pseudospectral method based on the Fibonacci operational matrix is proposed to solve generalized pantograph equations with linear functional arguments.

A Highly Accurate Computational Approach to Solving the Diffusion Equation of a Fractional Order

open access: yesMathematics
This study aims to present and apply an effective algorithm for solving the TFDE (Time-Fractional Diffusion Equation). The Chebyshev cardinal polynomials and the operational matrix for fractional derivatives based on these bases are relied on as crucial ...

Fast Calculation Method for Transient Response of Transmission Line Based on Chebyshev Pseudospectral–Two-Step Three-Order Boundary Value Coupled Method

open access: yes, 2019
A Chebyshev pseudospectral–two-step three-order boundary value coupled method is proposed and presented for handling the issue associated with complicated calculation, low precision, and poor stability in the process of transient response of ...

A pseudospectral Legendre method for hyperbolic equations with an improved stability condition

open access: yes, 1984
A new pseudospectral method is introduced for solving hyperbolic partial differential equations. This method uses different grid points than previously used pseudospectral methods: in fact the grid are related to the zeroes of the Legendre polynomials ...
