On mechanical aspects of nerve pulse propagation and the Boussinesq paradigm; pp. 331–337 [PDF]
The dynamic behaviour of the Boussinesq-type equation governing longitudinal wave propagation in cylindrical biomembranes is analysed by making use of the pseudospectral method. It is shown how the dispersion type has a significant effect on the solution.

Self‐Creation of Accelerated Temporal Mirrors
The field of temporal analog effects is rapidly emerging and seen as a driver of a paradigm shift in photonics. It promises striking new phenomena but remains experimentally challenging. This work introduces a mechanism that automatically creates a temporal mirror with simple optical means, unlocking practical access to extreme nonlinear dynamics and ...

Design of an Online Nonlinear Optimal Tracking Control Method for Unmanned Ground Systems
A nonlinear tracking error model for unmanned ground systems (UGS) was developed, and the constraints and objective function were established; the tracking control problem for UGS was converted to a continuous nonlinear optimal control problem.

Ground‐Motion Aleatory‐Variability Models for Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands
I develop independent logic trees for aleatory variability for crustal and subduction‐zone (interface and intraslab) earthquakes for seismic hazards analyses in Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands (PRVI) from existing suites of ground‐motion models (GMMs) and from ground‐motion datasets, including a regional PRVI dataset.

A Fourier pseudospectral method for some computational aeroacoustics problems
A Fourier pseudospectral time-domain method is applied to wave propagation problems pertinent to computational aeroacoustics. The original algorithm of the Fourier pseudospectral time-domain method works for periodical problems without the interaction ...

Abstract Background Transcranial ultrasound is a promising non‐invasive neuromodulation technique with applications, including neuronal activity modulation, blood–brain barrier opening, targeted drug delivery, and thermal ablation. Its ability to deliver focused ultrasound waves to precise brain regions has led to over 50 clinical trials targeting ...

Trajectory Optimization of Hypersonic Vehicle Using Gauss Pseudospectral Method
The paper presents a gauss pseudospectral solution for the trajectory optimization problem of a hypersonic vehicle. Determination of optimal trajectory of a hypersonic vehicle is of great interest due to the different path and boundary conditions that ...
