New Analytical and Numerical Solutions for Mixed Convection Boundary-Layer Nanofluid Flow along an Inclined Plate Embedded in a Porous Medium

open access: yesJournal of Applied Mathematics, 2013
Two different analytical and numerical methods have been applied to solve the system describing the mixed convection boundary-layer nanofluids flow along an inclined plate embedded in a porous medium, namely, homotopy perturbation method (HPM) and ...

An adaptive pseudospectral method for wave packet dynamics

open access: yesThe Journal of Chemical Physics, 2012
We solve the time-dependent Schrödinger equation for molecular dynamics using a pseudospectral method with global, exponentially decaying, Hagedorn basis functions. The approximation properties of the Hagedorn basis depend strongly on the scaling of the spatial coordinates.

A Highly Accurate Computational Approach to Solving the Diffusion Equation of a Fractional Order

open access: yesMathematics
This study aims to present and apply an effective algorithm for solving the TFDE (Time-Fractional Diffusion Equation). The Chebyshev cardinal polynomials and the operational matrix for fractional derivatives based on these bases are relied on as crucial ...

Pseudospectral vs finite difference methods for initial value problems with discontinuous coefficients

open access: yes, 2018
: "An initial value problem with piecewise constant coefficients is considered. The accuracies for both finite difference methods and the pseudospectral method are analyzed, and a modification of the initial value problem is suggested.

Aircraft three-dimensional hardconstrained trajectory planning using pseudospectral optimization method

open access: yesJournal of Aerospace Technology and Management, 2021
This paper is concerned with the three-dimensional constrained optimal path planning. To this end, an objective function is defined as the shortest trajectory length in such a way that some constraints including rough terrain avoidance, forbidden zone ...

Trajectory generation for autonomous unmanned aircraft using inverse dynamics [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
The problem addressed in this research is the in-flight generation of trajectories for autonomous unmanned aircraft, which requires a method of generating pseudo-optimal trajectories in near-real-time, on-board the aircraft, and without external ...

Spectral Relaxation Method and Spectral Quasilinearization Method for Solving Unsteady Boundary Layer Flow Problems

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2014
Nonlinear partial differential equations (PDEs) modelling unsteady boundary-layer flows are solved by the spectral relaxation method (SRM) and the spectral quasilinearization method (SQLM). The SRM and SQLM are Chebyshev pseudospectral based methods that
