Fasciola hepatica: the redial generations in juvenile Pseudosuccinea columella

Parasitology Research, 2015
Juvenile Pseudosuccinea columella, measuring 1 or 2 mm in height, were subjected to single-miracidium infections with Fasciola hepatica to determine the developmental pattern of redial generations and count free and live rediae according to their generation. Controls were constituted of juvenile Galba truncatula infected according to the same protocol.

Fasciola hepatica: development of redial generations in experimental infections of Pseudosuccinea columella

Parasitology Research, 2014
Experimental infections of Egyptian Pseudosuccinea columella with one or two miracidia of Fasciola hepatica per snail were carried out to determine the developmental pattern (normal or abnormal) of redial generations and specify the number of free rediae developing in snails according to their generation.

Fasciola hepatica: identification of molecular markers for resistant and susceptible Pseudosuccinea columella snail hosts

Experimental Parasitology, 2003
Protein electrophoresis, RAPD-PCR and nuclear rDNA ITS sequencing were performed to search for genetic differences between Pseudosuccinea columella snails susceptible and resistant to Fasciola hepatica infection. Of the 21 enzymatic loci analyzed in both populations, none of them exhibited neither within- or between-group variation.
