An 82-year-old male was admitted to the hospital because of epigastralgia eleven hours after eating sashimi of a halibut. In the first gastrcendoscopic examination, a living nematode could not be found and then the patient was diagnosed as acute gastritis. The patient, however, complained of intermittent epigastralgia.
