Offshoring and Labor Market Power: Comparing Belgian and Dutch Firms

open access: yesIndustrial Relations: A Journal of Economy and Society, Volume 65, Issue 1, Page 80-99, January 2026.
ABSTRACT We study the relationship between offshoring and labor market imperfections at the firm level in Belgium and the Netherlands. In both countries, wage‐markup pricing stemming from workers' monopoly power is more prevalent than wage‐markdown pricing originating from firms' monopsony power.

Challenges in Modelling Spatio‐Temporal Climatic Correlates of Local Losses of Wild Bees Using Dynamic Occupancy Models

open access: yesDiversity and Distributions, Volume 31, Issue 7, July 2025.
ABSTRACT Aim Impacts of climate change on biodiversity are well documented. Much of the evidence linking climate change to species distribution changes derives from studies using long‐term climate averages in a correlative spatial framework. While useful, these static species distribution models (SDMs) give little insight into the process behind the ...

A Deep Learning‐to‐learning Based Control system for renewable microgrids

open access: yesIET Renewable Power Generation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper focuses on wind power forecasting and optimal management and control of renewable microgrids (MGs) in a realistic environment. For robust and efficient scheduling of MG, an optimal framework based on TLBO and deep learning is proposed. Abstract In terms of microgrids (MGs) operation, optimal control and management are vital issues that must ...

Yields and polarizations of prompt $\jpsi$ and $\psits$ production in hadronic collisions

open access: yes, 2014
We give predictions of $\jpsi$ and $\psits$ yields and polarizations in prompt production at hadron colliders based on non-relativistic QCD factorization formula. We calculate short-distance coefficients of all important color-octet intermediate channels as well as color-singlet channels up to $\mathcal{O}( _S^4)$, i.e. next-to-leading order in $ _S$.

Mathematical Modeling and Cost‐Effectiveness Analysis of an SeEeIeRe Typhoid Fever Model

open access: yesJournal of Mathematics, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
The complications induced by typhoid fever in the host are a significant concern for public health, with most countries in Sub‐Saharan Africa, Asia, and North America grappling with their worst typhoid cases and deaths owing to poor sanitation problems. We examined a nonlinear mathematical model for typhoid fever disease.
